Essential Items For New Born Babies

There’s no time like the present to start getting organised for your new bundle of joy. It may seem like you have plenty of time but the next few months will fly. When preparing for the arrival of a newborn baby, it’s important to have a few essential items ready to ensure their comfort and well-being. Here are some key items to consider:

1. A Place To Sleep

The type of bed you choose is a matter of personal preference, but your newborn needs a safe place to sleep.
We used cribs for all our children as they prefer to sleep in their own room, their own space, rather than collapsible. Cribs also have the longest service life compared to other cribs, especially if you buy a convertible crib. I’ve never heard of a 3-year-old sleeping in a bassinet, but I still hear of a 3-year-old sleeping in a crib.

2. Clean Clothes

Babies need something to wear. Helps keep you warm and comfortable. Soft clothing such as rompers, sweatshirts, and pajamas are best. Cute outfits such as dresses, vests, hats and even shoes are not needed except for a few cute pictures as the baby is not sitting yet and all climbs up and sits awkwardly.

When shopping for pajamas, opt for ones with zippers instead of snaps, saving you time wrestling with a wriggling baby in the middle of the night. Whenever possible, choose clothes with zippers rather than snaps.

3. Diapers And Wipes

If there’s one thing we can guarantee newborns, it’s that they pee and poop 24/7. Stock up on diapers and wipes.

You also need a good diaper ointment. My absolute favorite is Balmex diaper rash cream, much better than Desitin, Butt Paste and Aquaphor diaper rash cream.

Also, don’t forget that you need a diaper bag, or at least a very large purse that holds at least a couple of containers for diapers, wipes, bottles, a change of clothes, and small snacks.

4. Car Seat

When buying a car seat for your baby, you can choose between a booster seat and a convertible car seat. The difference is that car seats are portable and only last about a year for most babies. Convertible Her car seat fits children from newborn up to her 4 or 5 years old (later depending on child’s size and car seat weight and height restrictions) but is not portable.

We use a baby carrier for the first year. I love how easy it is to carry a sleeping baby with this (baby sleeps well in the first year of life).

5.Baby Carrier

A sturdy and supportive baby carrier is a savior for fussy babies who always want to be carried. It also makes shopping trips, hiking, bus trips and other adventures with your baby much easier.

Providers have different options. You can choose not to use the neonatal carrier if you prefer, but for his first three months or so it performs better than more ergonomic designs and is ideal for larger infants and toddlers is.

6. Stroller

If you want to make getting around easier, whether hiking, exploring the zoo, shopping malls, or just want to get some exercise, a stroller, especially with its storage space, is the way to go. No need to carry around diaper bags, snacks and water.
These strollers are the cheapest to buy, but most do not fit in car seats and are not particularly suitable for small newborns. Also, many do not have storage baskets or drink holders underneath. In that case, the size tends to be smaller.

7. Changing Pad And Table

Some might say that a changing table or changing mat is not essential, as babies can be changed on the floor or on the bed at any time.

But I used it all the time, so I was very happy to get it! It keeps your back safe, provides a place to keep diapers and wipes handy, and protects floors, carpets, sheets and comforters from fecal stains (and the comforter is much larger than a small replacement pad cover). , difficult to wash).

8. A Place (or Two) To Sit

I personally prefer baby swings, but they take up a lot more space than small lockers.

The baby swing will swing for you. Most are tiltable, play music, and are easy to clean. Some of the products I recommend can be plugged into a wall outlet, so you don’t have to spend money on batteries (note that the vibrate feature often requires a battery even when plugged into a wall outlet). please).

Baby swings are useful for fussy babies who may be more comfortable sitting upright than on a crib mattress due to backflow and gas. It also keeps kids off the ground in case older siblings or pets make the ground dangerous. And babies tend to love them. The perfect place for picky babies to fall asleep and rest.

9. Nursing Supplies

Nursing aids are important tools and equipment used by healthcare professionals, especially nurses, to care for and support patients.
Personal protective equipment (PPE):
PPE includes gloves, masks, gowns, face shields and goggles.
For some mothers, it is enough to use a regular pillow at home or comfortably support the baby in their arms without the need for a special nursing pillow. But some mothers swear by it.
Some people don’t think it’s necessary to cover up when breastfeeding in public, and while it’s not a legal requirement in most places, many mothers prefer to cover up for a variety of reasons. I am one of those mothers. Of course, in most cases a simple blanket, scarf, poncho or jacket will suffice.

10.  Bottle Feeding Supplies

I was on supplements with my twins and needed formula. I kept things very simple. Basically you need:

The three most popular branded formulas are Enfamil, Similac, and Gerber Good Start. For infants, there is also dairy-free, organic infant formula.
Dishwashers are very good, but it is difficult to effectively and completely clean the inside of the bottle, nipple, and valve of the bottle in the dishwasher every time. It tends to decompose quickly.

11. Bathing Supplies

Baby’s skin is sensitive, so soft and gentle bath essentials are a must if you want to give birth to a happy and clean baby.

I don’t think a bathtub is necessary, and it takes up a lot of space. Your baby can lie in the bathtub alone, or you can sleep with him, bathe him for a while with a sponge, or bathe him in the sink. This simple bath is good for a baby bath. It’s small, affordable, and folds down small. But when it comes to baby bath essentials, we recommend our small, fluffy baby towels, Johnson’s head-to-toe baby soap, and hooded baby towels.

12. Baby Monitor

Whether this is necessary depends on several factors. If you have a large house, have more than one floor, sleep well, use a fan or other white noise to sleep at night, your baby is not sleeping in your room, or you If you’re overly concerned about your baby while sleeping, a baby monitor is probably a must-have. A simple baby monitor with audio will suffice and is very cheap, but of course video baby monitors are also very popular these days.

13. Burp Cloths

Babies will vomit whether they are breast-fed or bottle-fed!! It is very convenient to keep several burp cloths on hand. Near where you feed your baby, in your diaper bag, in your handbag, anywhere. Some babies vomit frequently for over a year. A burp cloth is an absolute must-have for your baby!
The mattress is the perfect bed for your new born baby and the mattress topper is perfect for storing your baby’s poop in tight spaces. Both are made from healthy natural materials and are safe for you, your baby and your home. Brentwood Home handcrafts its mattresses and bedding in its Los Angeles factory and has full control over the production process, from design to engineering to manufacturing.
